The Scout Mate badge is for leaders to use as part of a recruitment campaign to encourage new members, child or adult, to become members or either a section, group or district in either a uniformed or lay capacity.
This is an un-authorised badge and not part of the Scout Associations training and award scheme. It is up to the individual section, group or district to create requirements that suit their circumstances. The outlines below therefore can be amended in any way to suit local circumstances.
1 – Bring a friend who is not a member of the movement to your group.
2 - Introduce them to the leaders and other members of the group with who they will come in to direct contact.
3 – Show them around the building where you meet and advise them of special rules and regulations that will affect them.
4 – Take part in an additional activity outside the normal group meeting time, preferably an outdoor one.
5 – Help them learn about the Scout movement and assist them in learning their Scout law and promise for the meeting.
6 – Support them at their investiture and at that time receive you Scout Mate Badge.
Delivery charges are calculated on the weight of your items and are added to your total order at the shipping stage.
