Welcoming a new Squirrel Scout to the Drey and the worldwide Scouts family is an exciting time, especially for the person making their Promise. This Squirrels Promise badge is an ideal keepsake to remember that moment for years to come.

Preparing to make a Promise

Before making their Promise, the Squirrel and their parents/carers should have plenty of time to look at the different Promises they can choose from and decide which one is right for them. The beginning of every version is the same, and they can choose which ending is right for them.

The Promise

The Promise is a simple way to help young people and adults celebrate their shared Scout values. Every Scout promises to stick by these values when they become a member.

There are four versions of the Promise appropriate to different age groups.

There is a Promise for;

• Squirrels
• Beavers
• Cubs
• Scouts, Explorers, Network and adults

Scouts is open to people of all faiths and of none. We have different variations of our Promise, so everyone can make a Promise that means something to them, no matter their background or belief.
